Every year the Sydney International Food Festival calls upon chefs from around the world to create stunning dishes using traditional foods from different countries. As you can see the results were pretty amazing.
1. Italian Flag
The Italian flag dish was made up of Basil leaves, traditional long Italian pasta and fresh tomatoes. I love Italian food and this flag is certainly the dish I would choose to tuck into first.

2. Indian Flag
For those who prefer something a bit spicy is the Indian flag. It consists of three delicious stripes of spicy chicken curry, boiled white rice and cooked cheera thoran. A small single poppadom sits in the center to represent the 24-spoke wheel on India`s flag.
3. Brazilian Flag
For the Brazilian flag a giant banana leaf was placed over the plate and layered with sliced limes. A pineapple was cut into a diamond shape to represent the middle section and half a passion fruit on top finished of the dish.
4. Chinese Flag
This dish was made up mostly of the red juicy Dragon fruit cut into squares and a few slices of star fruit were used to represent the flag’s stars. Simple but effective.
5. American Flag
The extremely popular American hot dog was used to make the red and white stripes and a few dots of mustard made up the stars. You can’t get more American than this.
6. Greek Flag
The Greek flag dish was created using red olives and chunks of creamy thick feta cheese. Yummy.
7. Japanese Flag
The Japanese flag was an easy dish to create. Just a slice of raw tuna sitting on a small bed of white rice and there you have it.
8. Lebanese Flag
A crisp Middle Eastern flat bread called lavash sits on the plate with diced tomatoes making up the edges. To finish off a single stem of herb sprig is placed in the middle to represent the tree on the flag.
9. Vietnamese Flag
For the Vietnam flag the plate was filled up with Rambutan and lychee fruits to represent the red background and a large starfruit slice has been placed on top for the star. Perfect
10. Australian Flag
The Australian flag dish was made up of a large meat and gravy pie. Small stars were cut out to reveal the delicious center and a few lines of ketchup in the corner to show the Union Jack.
11. South Korean Flag
A few pieces of Kimbap is cleverly placed on the plate to form the Korean flag. In the middle sits the traditional dipping sauce served with Kimbap.
12. French Flag
On this dish blue cheese, brie and grapes make up France’s Tricolor.
13. British Flag
The Union Jack was created using a giant scone covered in cream and jam. Just missing a cup of tea.
14. Turkish Flag
Deliciously sweet Turkish delight makes up this flag. Who would love a piece?
15. Spanish Flag
Traditional Chorizo sausage and paella rice neatly make up the Spanish flag.
